What a quote should contain
Four things, in writing. Which trees, identified clearly enough that there is no argument later. What method — fell, climb and rig, crane, grind, excavate. What happens to the debris, including whether the stump is in or out and whether the chip stays or goes. And who is responsible for any council approval and for any traffic control.
Anything missing from that list is where disputes come from. A quote that is two hundred dollars cheaper because it quietly leaves the stump and the mulch on your lawn is not a cheaper quote, it is a smaller job.

Frequently asked questions
I do not know whether my tree needs pruning or removal. What now?
Book a free on-site quote and say exactly that. A qualified arborist looking at the tree can tell you in ten minutes whether the problem is a few dead limbs, a structural defect that pruning cannot fix, or something that needs monitoring rather than cutting. There is no obligation to book work off the back of it.
Can I get several jobs quoted in one visit?
Yes, and you should. A large share of any quote is getting the crew and the machines to your property. Two trees, a hedge and a stump done in one visit costs far less than four separate visits. If you have work you have been putting off, group it.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. On-site quotes are free and there is no obligation. What a quote should give you is a written scope: which trees, what method, whether the stump is included, what happens to the debris and who is handling any council approval. If a quote does not say those things, ask before you accept it.
