Ring for anything urgent. Use the form for anything that can wait until the morning.

Phone

Call (02) 4071 2525. The number is answered outside business hours for storm and emergency work, and it is by far the fastest route for anything urgent.

If a tree is in contact with powerlines, call Ausgrid first and keep everyone clear. If anyone is injured or a building is structurally damaged, call triple zero. The NSW SES takes storm damage calls on 132 500. Tree work follows once the site is safe — see emergency tree work for what happens next.

Quote form

Use the form on this page for non-urgent work. The more you can say about the tree, what is under it and what the access looks like, the closer the first number will be to the final one.

What to tell us

Five things cover most jobs:

  • The address, so the right local crew gets the enquiry.
  • The tree — rough height against the roofline, and the species if you know it.
  • What is underneath — roof, pool, fence, shed, neighbour's yard, or open lawn.
  • The access — driveway, side gate width, stairs, slope, whether a truck can park out front.
  • What you want done — removal, pruning, hedge work, stump, or "not sure, come and look".

Photos from two or three angles, including one showing the access path, are worth several paragraphs of description.

Where work is covered

Newcastle city and the coastal suburbs, all of Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the flood plain suburbs, Cessnock and the vineyard fringe, and north through Raymond Terrace into Port Stephens. Suburb by suburb detail is on the service areas hub.

Before you book

If your tree may be protected, read council tree rules — approval is the property owner's responsibility and it is far easier to sort before a booking than after. If you want to understand how the number is built, the cost guide sets out every factor that moves it.

This is a referral website. The work is carried out by independent local contractors who quote and invoice you directly. Ask to see their insurance and qualifications before work starts — that check is not done for you. There is more detail on the about page.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How quickly will someone get back to me?

Enquiries left through the form are followed up as fast as a crew can get to them, and the original site advertised a fast call-back service and a quote within 24 hours. For anything urgent — a tree on a roof, a limb over a driveway, a trunk blocking access — ring rather than fill in a form, because the phone is answered around the clock.

What details make a quote faster?

Your address, roughly how tall the tree is compared to the gutter line, what is underneath it, how wide the side access is, and what you want done. A couple of photos from different angles helps a great deal. With that most jobs can be scoped on the phone and confirmed at the site visit.

Do you charge for a site visit?

No. On-site quotes are free and there is no obligation to book. If you have several jobs around the property, mention them all at once so they can be looked at together — grouping work into a single visit is the easiest way to bring the total down.

Can I get a quote for work at an investment property?

Yes, and it is common. Real estate agents, property managers and owners of rental and investment properties across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie are regular clients. Access arrangements with tenants need sorting first, and quoting from photos supplied by the agent is often the practical starting point.
