Limits on the information published here

What the content on this site is for, and the decisions it should not be used to make on its own.

General information only

Everything published on this site is general information. It is written for property owners in Newcastle and the Hunter trying to understand tree work before they book it, and it is not a substitute for a qualified arborist looking at your specific tree.

No page here constitutes an arboricultural assessment, an engineering opinion, a legal opinion or financial advice. Decisions about whether a tree is safe, whether it can be pruned or must be removed, and whether it is protected, should be made on the basis of a site inspection and the relevant council's current policy.

This is a referral website

The operator of this site does not perform tree work. Enquiries are referred to independent contractors who quote, schedule, perform and invoice the work directly.

No representation is made about any contractor's licensing, insurance, accreditation, qualifications, workmanship, punctuality or conduct. Those documents are not inspected or verified by the site operator. Ask to see current public liability and workers compensation cover before work begins.

Pricing

Any figures on this site, including the ranges reproduced on the cost guide, are indicative only and are drawn from what this business has previously published. They are not quotes, they are not offers, and they do not bind any contractor.

Tree work is priced on the specific tree, the access, the site conditions, the method required and what happens to the debris. Two jobs that sound identical on the phone routinely differ substantially in price for reasons that are only visible on site.

Council rules and approvals

The information published here about tree protection, permits and exemptions across City of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock and Port Stephens is a general summary. Council policies, thresholds and exemptions change, and the mapping that determines whether a property is bushfire-prone or subject to a vegetation overlay changes too.

Always confirm the current position with the council that covers your address before removing or significantly pruning a tree. Responsibility for obtaining approval rests with the property owner.

Safety warnings

Tree work causes serious injuries and deaths in Australia every year. Nothing on this site should be read as encouragement to remove or prune a tree yourself.

Never approach a tree or branch in contact with powerlines. Treat every downed conductor as live, keep everyone well clear and call Ausgrid. In an emergency involving injury or structural damage, call triple zero. For storm damage to property, the NSW SES number is 132 500.

Do not work under a hung-up limb, on a ladder with a chainsaw, or on a tree that has already partly failed. Those are the three scenarios behind most serious domestic tree injuries.

Links to councils, the NSW Rural Fire Service, Ausgrid, the NSW SES and other external sites are provided for convenience. Those sites are not controlled by the operator, their content is not verified here, and a link is not an endorsement.

Reviews and claims

The customer comments reproduced on this site are those that appeared on the original website and are reproduced as written. No star rating or review count is published because no verifiable figure is held. No ABN, licence number, street address, staff name or years-in-business figure is published beyond what the business itself has stated.

Accuracy and availability

Reasonable care is taken to keep this site accurate and current, but no warranty is given that it is complete, accurate or up to date, or that the site will be available without interruption.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage arising from reliance on the information published here or from any referral made through this site. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes any right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
